When the young Philip Glass and the young Steve Reich were living near each other in New York in the late 60’s they started a furnituremovingcompany, called ‘ChelseaLightMoving.’ Their company didn’t last too long, but I have always loved the spirit of it, and the name. And somehow my piece reminded me of that time, that place and that sound.
